Engineer Karim Badawy, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources,
inspected the trial operation of the new expansions and the fourth
production line at the Western Desert Gas Complex affiliated with
GASCOS.
The minister confirmed that these expansions represent a strategic
infrastructure that supports the sector's ability to receive and process
larger quantities of gas produced from the fields, and to prepare and
pump it thru the national natural gas grid. He explained that the new
expansions, represented by the fourth production line "Train D,"
constitute a strategic addition with a design capacity of 600 million
cubic feet per day, raising the total capacity of the complex to 1.5
billion cubic feet per day.
The minister added that the actual operational rates of the expansions
exceeded 500 million cubic feet per day, noting that the project
reflects the Egyptian petroleum sector's ability to implement major
projects according to the latest global systems, thru an Egyptian
consortium that includes the companies Enppi and Petrojet, embodying the
integration of national expertise and the efficiency of Egyptian
personnel.
